Q: What is the procedure from crossing the border? A: The border is fully open and it simply takes a 5 minute stop where you fill in a slip of paper with your passport number, then cross. Its as easy as entering France.   Q: What is the weather like in the winter months? A: Very nice, temperatures range from 20 to 22 degrees. Its much fresher than the summer months, so if you prefer a cooler temperature, the winter will be better for you. Also, if you are planning on enjoying the walks and climbing activities, avoid the summer months of June and August.   Q: How easy is it to hire a car? A: A car can be rented with the villa and delivered for you. Car hire is much cheaper than in the south of Cyprus. The beneifit is all cars are right hand drive and driving is on the same side of the road as the UK!   Q: What is the currency? A: The main currency is Turkish Lira, but you can also use UK Sterling. You can spend TL and receive change in GBP. There is an HSBC in Kyrenia where sterling is readily available. Some menu's and price lists are even in Sterling!
